I come home tonight after a really enjoyable evening touring Oakland’s Art Murmur with my dear friend Lanell. Tom reminds me about my need to blog and I forgot, like it completely slipped my mind. It’s so wierd. I was quite enjoying my popularity today and was fearful that I wasn’t going to be able to keep it up and look what happens! It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Anyway, I’m really glad to be writing right now.
Tom also reminds me that I was out supporting the arts and fulfilling my AEDM challenge in that way. It’s true. As a creative type, I do think it’s incredibly valuable and important to support others on their artistic paths. Tonight, I really enjoyed blankspace gallery’s showing of Michael Hall and Daniel Healey’s work.
On a really exciting note, I got to show Lanell my box on auction at Pro Arts Gallery. It’s been bid up to $150! It was a treat to see. Such an emotional roller coaster for me though. I really wanted to be okay if no one bid on it but I have to say I’m quite pleased that someone did. My process in creating this definitely stretched me and opened up new avenues of exploration. I’m looking forward to see what comes out of me next!
Posted above is one of my mail art pieces I was working on yesterday. It’s a mini painting actually but not quite finished.
