The Sketchbook Project and Art Every Day Month Challenge

I’ve finally found and located Michelle Moode’s thesis. I’m so excited to read it! Here’s a quote that she uses: “Every artist knows that he is engaged in an encounter with the infinite, and that work done with the heart and hand is ultimately worship of life itself.” –Soetsu Yanagi.

I’m working on writing my own statement of purpose for grad school and what I want to do most is redesign my website, or clean or anything but write. I have such resistance.

  1. Here’s a thought: what if you chose to lean into loving your resistance. Just breathe and lean and nuzzle it with curiosity. What does it have to tell you, to show you, to help you come to understand….

  2. I completely understand about the Statement of Purpose. It seems like I tell myself every week that I will finish it this week. I keep putting it off though, and when I do look at it again I find errors or decide to re-word things or change it a bit… I’ve been working on it since SEP! But my deadline for myself to send in my complete application is 1 DEC so I better get on the ball soon. Good luck to you!

  3. I’m loving your sketchbook backgrounds! Very inspiring. And thanks for mailing me a piece from your dichotomy installation. It will go in my art room!
